Is it really free for deaf users?
Yes. Our core web application for 1:1 communication will always be free for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. We monetize through our B2B products (kiosks, widgets, API).
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs in your web browser. You need a camera, a microphone if you want to speak, and an internet connection so the signs can be read while you sign.
What sign languages are supported?
Israeli Sign Language (ISL) is in production with 952 signs at about 91% lab validation. American Sign Language (ASL) on the live site is 825 signs at about 89% lab validation. A cleaner 641-sign set is in the lab and is not the live site. Live counts are at /stats.
How accurate is the translation?
Lab validation is about 91% on ISL isolated signs and about 89% on the live ASL set (825 signs). A cleaner 641-sign ASL set in the lab is about 97% and is not on the live site. Real-world camera reading is a different path and still depends on lighting, camera, and signer style.
